Peaceful Pink Power

Millions of women marched across time zones on January 21.

Peacefully.

In a remarkable show of soulforce, women came out around the world.

Like the girls of the hive, they were multitudinous. Their voices heard ringing from cities and towns everywhere.

Pink, Yellow and Black.The new colors of the common good.

Of that which is life affirming.

Men were there too. Along with families. Children. Grandmothers. All generations represented. A safe place.

Eloquent. Cheeky. Poetic. Musical. Dancing bodies.

Creativity was astonishing.

I saw signs of uterus’ held by local midwives(as a midwife friend explained to me, the uterus is the strongest muscle in the human body).

New life comes through women’s bodies.

So proud of you Albuquerque! Your beautiful women are diverse, wise, loving, strong.  From the Ceremonial Sacred Prayer circle (thank you Antoinette Gonzales and mujer fuerte) to Rev. Angela calling us onward, poet Mary Oishi crunching the numbers and reciting poetry to wake  up our ancesters, to Diane Denish, “We are the storm”, and the African musicians and dance troupes who rocked it!
A shout out to the fantastic women who dreamed, designed and carried out Albuquerque Women’s March. Muchas Gracias.
Let us come out and fly, buzz, soar, dance, suck nectar together in these public ways when our spirits are flagging.
Let us have all our backs in this love revolution.
Let us always ask, am I acting for the good of the whole hive? The whole community? Or just my rights. Myself.
Let us keep skin in the game.
Let us make honey together when the going gets rough.

What are these truths?  Well, here are a few of mine…. peaceful uprisings, unarmed justice, respect for all, reverence, kindness, compassion, death and resurrection.
